Our Community Christian Preschool family values and encourages parent and teachers to work together to create the best possible experience for your child. Parents are welcome to participate in the classroom. We provide a safe, happy and loving Christian environment. In addition to academics, we will assist your child in developing a sense of trust and appreciation of God's love. Recognizing parents as the primary educators of their children, teachers will take the role of facilitator and guide children in the learning process.
Hi, my name is Nicholle Young, and I am the teacher of the Monkey class this year. This is my seventh year teaching at CCPS and I love it here! I have been happily married for twenty-two years and have four beautiful children. I have lived in Poway for over 15 years and although I didn’t grow up here it feels like home to me! I received my Bachelor’s Degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Since getting my degree I have spent many hours volunteering in my children’s class rooms and very actively participating in their preschool education. I even had a preschool in my home one year. I have been teaching children at church for 20 years and have loved it! I really enjoy being around children, teaching them, playing with them, and creating with them! I am looking forward to a great year!
Hi, my name is Susanne Turner and I am the teacher of the Panda Class and the Koala Class here at CCPS. My husband Walt and I have been married for 24 years. We have been blessed with three wonderful, healthy, and energetic boys (Michael, 22, Matthew, 20, and Sam, 18.) Both my college education and teaching credential were completed at the University of San Diego. This will be my 13th year at CCPS and I absolutely love it here!! Being able to work with the preschoolers and watching the wonder of discovery and excitement as they learn something new is such a privilege. Every day is a wonderful new adventure and the children’s big smiles are my biggest reward. I am really looking forward to a terrific year of learning, play, and creating wonderful memories in our classroom!

My family and I have lived in Poway since December 1991. Before living in Poway, we lived in Yokohama, Japan for many years. While in Japan, I taught English-as-a-Second-Language to Japanese children and adults. Since moving here, I attended Palomar College where I received my Early Childhood Education units.
My family includes my husband, our two grown daughters, and my parents which live with my husband and I. My husband is retired from the Navy and is working at Rancho Bernardo High School.
As I work with your children throughout the year, I realize what a wonderful treasure they are. It is a joy to be a part of the children’s lives for this short but exciting time.

Prior to joining CCPS, I enjoyed being a Parent Volunteer and PTA Executive for many years. I continued my formal education in Child Development.
I love having the opportunity to get to know and share time with our preschool children. Engaging with children and seeing and feeling their joy and enthusiasm as they learn, create and experience the world around them. My love for working with children and the great reputation at CCPS, helps me to look forward to a very fun school year.
Hi, my name is Kate Stanford and I am excited to be teaching the Zebra Pre-K class this year! My husband, Donny, and I have been in the San Diego area for the last five years and have enjoyed raising our two boys (3 and 5) here experiencing the many things to do. This will be my first year at CCPS and I am thrilled to be back in the classroom. I received my teaching degree from Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia and taught First grade while we lived there. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending barre classes, discovering new places to eat, and being out in the sun! I am looking forward to working with your preschoolers and helping them discover the joy of learning!

We have 2 daughters, Brianna and Jenni and a wonderful son-in-law, Jon, of Shea Realty. Brianna and Jon gave us our first granddaughter on June 18 and my world expanded to endless joy and love. Brianna is a 6th grade teacher at Mesa Verde. Jenni is a young entrepreneur with a growing business called “Cakes on Cakes”, a custom bakery that creates your dream cupcakes, cakes and cookies, is also employed at Cork and Craft Restaurant, and is a Yoga instructor.
